R.I.P. The British Chipmunk!

No Chipmunk is NOT dead. But the way his carrying on, his music career in the UK might just come to an end very soon.

'In The Air' featuring Keri Hilson is a very tacky, very American sounding song. After coming out with 'Flying High', which previously I have said that it was a great way to come back to the music scene after leaving his label, his music has been redirected and away from your typical UK sound. 'Champion' featuring Chris Brown was a good song for Breezy but in terms of lyrical content, what relevance did it have for Chipmunk?

The only English thing about Chippy right now is his accent. His dress sense, the rapper with the tattoo's and his music video's are very 'Young Money' like. The stereo-typical US rapper. What happened to the young and non-follow fashion Munk we all loved? How English was 'Oopsy Daisy'? Understandable that as an artist you always want to set yourself a new target. And for every UK artist/group its always a great feeling to conquer the USA. What I don't understand is, why don't the US ever feel like they need to conquer the UK? Because they don't care, that's why. British musicians need to be happy and stop trying to please the US. We don't need to sound and look like them to be a hit. Nicki Minaj's alter ego is English. When you go to America, they love our accents. Embrace that.

Watch the video below and do let me know what you think.
