Canada's top R&B singer. Cox once held the record for longest running number one single for her hit 'Nobody's Supposed To Be Here' on Billboards Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks for 14 weeks. She held that record for nearly 8 years.
She had 2 albums after that, 'One Wish' and 'The Morning After' which was released in 2002. She then went on to do Broadway in the big production of Aida, directed by Elton John and Tim Rice. Her solo music career seemed to be going down hill. Cox was only getting asked to feature on movie soundtracks. She's featured on movie soundtracks such as 'Money Talks', 'Dr Dolittle2', 'Hotel Rawanda' and 'Akeelah and the Bee'.
Between 2005 and 2006, Cox recorded her fourth album which was a tribute to jazz singer Dinah Washington. The album was then released in 2007. In September 2009 a major announcement was made, It was said that Deborah Cox was to join Kelly Price and Tamia to create a super group called 'The Queen Project'. Their debut single 'Queen' was supposed to be released in 2010 alongside a self titled album. But as we all know about the music industry, somethings work and some don't.
For me, my favourite Deborah Cox track is and always will be 'Who Do U Love' I remember seeing the video and being amazed by her beauty and her vocals, I'm so glad I can share this with you guys.
Watch the video below and let me know what you think.
